Lansing Trio Earn Award for Land Donations That Extend River Trail

The Michigan Recreation and Park Association has recognized Lansing residents, Kellie Dean, Joe Maguire and James Parish, for their contributions to the new, three-mile extension of the Lansing River Trail.

They are being awarded the annual Michigan Recreation and Park Association Community Service Awards for their contributions of land to help create a new three-mile southerly stretch of the river trail that runs along Sycamore Creek and connects to Potter Park Zoo.

The association picks award winners throughout Michigan who show outstanding support to public recreation and park programs in their communities.

The new three-mile southerly stretch of river trail runs along the Sycamore Creek and connects Potter Park Zoo, the Sycamore Creek Driving Range, The First Tee of Mid-Michigan, Scott Woods Park, Hawk Island Park and Maguire Park.
