A much-anticipated 3,000 square foot, $180,000 splash pad recently opened at the Family Aquatic Center in East Lansing.
According to excerpts from the article:
East Lansing resident Amy Moore's kids already love the East Lansing park's water slides—including a 190-foot tube slide, 140-foot body slide and drop slide—and have enjoyed playing on splash pad equipment at other parks while on vacation and visiting relatives, she said.
"We
have experienced splash pads in other communities throughout the
country, so they're very happy and excited about a new water feature at
East Lansing's water park," Moore said.
The
15,000-square-foot water park, which spans 3.5 acres, also offers a
25-meter lap pool with zero-depth entry, a diving board, a sand play
area and a sunbathing deck, said Tim McCaffrey, East Lansing's director
of Parks, Recreation and Arts.
The Aquatic
Center admits approximately 55,000 people each year, and the typical
length of stay is two to three-and-a-half hours, he said.
