Digital marketing firm growing into new space in downtown Mt. Pleasant

She’s produced television for PBS affiliate WCMU. She ran PR for the local PBS and NPR television and radio stations, respectively. Even when Courtney Jerome moved to Traverse City, she would sometimes work remotely, yet other times still make the two hour commute to Mt. Pleasant twice a week.

Jerome has a passion for telling stories.

It was there in Traverse City where she started the digital marketing firm Courtney Jerome Media.

Earlier this year, Jerome moved her growing family--and growing firm--back to Mt. Pleasant.

When she did, after a months-long stint working from the offices of the Central Michigan University Research Corporation, Jerome opted for downtown Mt. Pleasant as the new home for her company.

"When working for a magazine in Traverse City, it was my first downtown experience. I felt like you could be more part of the community being in a downtown, based on where I spent most of my days. I wanted to have that here in Mt. Pleasant and get to know the community," Jerome says.

"Since I’ve been here, it’s even more of a happening place than I thought. It’s great to be here and be part of downtown."

Located above the coffee shop Ponder Coffee Company, Jerome’s digital marketing firm offers a host of services, including content creation, social media management, video production, and more.

Her client list is growing, as she continues to add more from throughout the mid-Michigan region. She’s also added two part-time employees to the roster.

Moving Courtney Jerome Media downtown has revealed a side of Mt. Pleasant that she hadn’t seen before, Jerome says.

"There are lots of people walking from place to place, having business meetings in the restaurants and coffee shops. There’s a certain energy that exists downtown that you can’t find in other places."
