Early season holiday events happening throughout Mt. Pleasant

The autumn foliage is full of color, and the cooler temperatures are here for the season. Don’t let the loom of potential snowfall keep you stuck indoors these next six weeks! From delicious sweet treats to holiday fundraisers and crafts, check out these eight early season activities happening in the Mt. Pleasant area throughout November that will get you in the holiday spirit. 

Making Spirits Bright: FUNdraising event
Join Art Reach of Mt. Pleasant for a three-day fundraising event at The Little Flower Barn. This event will feature an Ugly Sweater Mixer on November 1 from 7 to 9 p.m.; a Free Family Fun Night on November 2 from 4 to 7 p.m.; and an Auction for the Arts on November 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Discover more information and tickets to each event here.

Christmas Outreach 2023
Non-profit organization Christmas Outreach of Isabella County provides essential items such as winter gear, bedding, and children’s books for Isabella County residents in need during Christmas. Their Christmas Outreach 2023 event will take place in mid-December at Morey Courts Recreation Center. Participants may make an appointment to receive their goods upon registration; registration begins October 30 by calling (989) 773-4204. Registration is open from October 30 to November 3, and November 6 to November 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations for the event can be dropped off at Morey Courts on December 13 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monetary donations are also accepted. 

Downtown Mt. Pleasant Ladies Day Out 2023
Take a day trip downtown Mt. Pleasant on November 11 for the annual Ladies Day Out event. It is a great opportunity to begin holiday shopping and connect with the Mt. Pleasant community and local retailers. This year, attendees will have a chance to win big with large raffle prizes by stopping at the Broadway Theatre from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and registering to win.

Isabella County Commission on Aging Holiday Craft Show
Get ahead on gift giving at the Isabella County Commission on Aging Holiday Craft Show. A handful of local vendors will be on site selling unique, handmade items perfect for holiday gifts. A quilt raffle will also take place. Food items will be available to purchase as well. This event will take place on November 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2200 S. Lincoln Rd in Mt. Pleasant.

Fill-A-Mayflower 2023 Event 
Since 2014, United Way of Gratiot and Isabella Counties, My1043 WCZY, and Ric's Food Center have partnered in collecting nonperishable food items to help local families throughout the holiday season. The annual 12-hour food drive takes place the Thursday before Thanksgiving—falling this year on November 17 at Ric’s Food Center on the corner of Mission and High Street. Participate in the Fill-A-Mayflower 2023 event by collecting and distributing nonperishable food items and personal care products to help stock the shelves of local organizations right before the holidays.

Watercolor Holiday Cards Workshop
Looking to add a unique twist to your holiday cards this season? Join Mid Michigan College at the Mt. Pleasant campus for a workshop to learn all about creating watercolor cards. This class will teach participants how to watercolor holiday scenes, seal the cards, and prepare them for mailing. The event will take place on November 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 2600 S. Cookie Decorating Class
Join Mid Michigan College on December 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant campus for an evening of decorating sweet treats. For everyone from the novice baker to the home-chef extraordinaire, this cookie decorating event welcomes all skill levels. Cookies and decorating materials will be provided. Rock and Rum Holiday Bash
Looking for an adult-only event this holiday season? Look no further than the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort Rock n’ Rum Holiday Bash. Enjoy live music and drinks at this 21+ only event in the Soaring Eagle Entertainment Hall. The concert takes place December 6, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
