Absolute Building Maintenance purchases new equipment

It’s not always all about the big investment, the new company or the multi-million-dollar grant; many times, how a business community grows is by small increments, with a few more jobs or a new service from a familiar company.

That’s the type of step forward Saginaw’s Absolute! Building Maintenance made recently, with a microinvestment of $60,000 into a new truck-mounted carpet cleaning system. The system, built by Butler Systems in Ludlow, Mass., will let ABM technicians clean carpet and ceramic tile and grout more effectively than before, with the latest in cleaning technology, built into a GMC van.

Clearly, customers will benefit by having cleaner carpets and tile, but the company benefits, too, as the new system is fuel-efficient, using heat exchange to heat the cleaning solution, and allowing two employees to use the system at one time with two cleaning wands. It also provides better fabric cleaning, water restoration and pressure washing features.

"We were adamant that the equipment was made in the U.S.A. as we are with all operating equipment purchases," says John Markey, VP of ABM. He adds the new system also means ABM will be adding two new jobs to the local workforce.

Absolute! Building Maintenance has its headquarters in downtown Saginaw and has been a family-owned and locally operated company for more than 35 years. It also serves customers in Midland, Bay City, Mt. Pleasant, Flint, Auburn Hills, Alma, Standish, Fenton and Caro, with services including janitorial services, restroom supplies, painting, snow removal, carpet cleaning and window washing.
