Bay City software company partners with marine communications

TransIt Solutions is going to get all wet pretty soon--or, at least, their software will.

TransIt, a software provider for the transportation and logistics industry, announced last week that it has partners with Boatracs, a maritime communications solutions provider, to develop a web-based solution for the commercial maritime industry.

The new software will incorporate TransIT Solutions' TransFUSION Network product, a web application for the shipping and logistics industry. Providing the core architecture, TransFUSION Network will greatly improve Boatracs' speed to market.

"We are thrilled that Boatracs has chosen TransIT Solutions as their partner for this very important project," says TransIT Solutions vice president Bob Stemple. "Our TransFUSION Network product was designed to be adaptable to various telematics and logistics industries. Its current implementation in both the trucking and maritime sectors exemplifies its broad-scope potential and viability."

The partnership will combine TransIT Solutions' strength in developing Internet-based GPS applications with Boatracs' experience in providing service to the wireless maritime market.

TransIT Solutions, which was formed in 2005, uses telematics to assist in logistics management issues like asset tracking, load matching, two-way instant messaging and more.
