Who knew that there were so many creative advertisers in Mid Michigan?
Four local businesses and one local student have received district-level ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation.
The awards, which are handed out annually, recognize and honor creative excellence in both professional and collegiate advertising. This year, Midland-based AGP & Associates received two gold awards for work it did for Dow Corning--an achievement that earned its own Mid Michigan Second Wave article last edition, which can be read

But the Great Lakes Bay Region also had other winners. AMPM, Inc., a Midland company, received a district Silver ADDY Award for its annual report developed for The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation.
Saginaw Valley State University received a district Silver ADDY Award for "A Seasonal Portrait" developed for SVSU's president's office.
ZENTX Media Group, based in Freeland, received a district Silver ADDY Award for its self-promotional Big Event Invitation.
"We are truly proud to have the Great Lakes Bay Region represented by such great work," says Shannon Vlassis, the American Advertising Federation Great Lakes Bay Region president. "Our chapter is part of district six, which includes Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. These states include such highly competitive advertising markets as Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Fort Wayne."
In addition to the local businesses, Central Michigan University Student Jim Leszczynski won two district Silver Student ADDY Awards.
The ADDY competition included 422 professional entries and 54 student entries. Thirty-eight Gold ADDYs were awarded along with 88 Silver ADDYs in the professional categories. Seven Gold Student ADDY and 23 Silver Student ADDYs were also awarded.
