Everyone thinks that their mom is pretty hard to beat. She can cook. She can clean. She can raise the kids. She can do it all while balancing a 40-hour work week, too.
And while our moms may all be the best, one Frankenmuth mom is getting recognized for her efforts. Judy Zehnder Keller was recently named as one of the 2011 Leading Moms in Business by
StartupNation.com. She was ranked 10th.
Zehnder Keller is the president of the
Barvarian Inn Lodge--a high-traffic tourist destination in Frankenmuth.
"My successes are a direct result of the people I get to work with each and every day--who are really like an extended family," says Zehnder Keller, a mother of three. "Those are not only the employees at the lodge, but the guests that visit us. We work hard to create enjoyable experiences for our guests, ourselves and each other by having fun at work every day."
The lodge--which Zehnder Keller planned and oversaw construction of while pregnant--opened Feb. 10, 1986 with 100 guestrooms, a restaurant and meeting rooms, one indoor pool and one whirlpool. Since then, it has undergone four expansions with each one adding more guestrooms and amenities. Zehnder Keller also serves as president of the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, Frankenmuth Gift Shop, Inc. and the Frankenmuth Motel.
