MITECH+ has leadership change with addition of new CEO

There's a change in leadership at MITECH+ and Joe Asiala is the new CEO.

Asiala, of Midland, had 30 years of global and local leadership experience with the Dow Chemical Company and was recently named the interim CEO of MITECH+ to fill the shoes of Bill Moneypenny, who recently accepted a position at Dow Kokam in Midland.

Asiala has been involved with MITECH+ for some time, serving with the organization at the board level, where he currently serves as chair.

MITECH's new CEO was also a founding member of the MidMichigan Innovation Center board, is a member of the BlueWater Angels and serves as a consultant and mentor to entrepreneurs in the region. He also serves on the Energy Engineering Institute Advisory Council and the Engineering Advisory Council for Texas A&M University.

Asiala was also named the president of the MidMichigan Innovation Center while Ken Kouskey, who resides in Saginaw, was named the CEO of the center.

Asiala has some big shoes to fill, however. MITECH+ has some key organizational accomplishments under the leadership of Moneypenny, including Creating awareness and support through networking among businesses and educators, ensuring the right focus for students toward fulfilling career choices and enabling staffing pipeline development to meet the future needs of businesses. In addition, Moneypenny led MITECH+ to create the MidMichigan Innovation Center in hopes of encouraging and supporting entrepreneurs, as well as the development of the Fast Start Chemical Process Program and the introduction of the Advanced Construction Career Connection.
