Anyone who has been on campus at
Saginaw Valley State University knows just how darn proud everyone is to be a part of that school. From the sports teams to the outstanding level of education, SVSU is bubbling over with school pride.
And now they have some Creative Cardinals to be proud of, too, thanks to an exhibition by the
Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum.
"Many SVSU faculty members and staff are extremely talented outside their normal university responsibilities, and so last August we put out a call for entries for a Creative Cardinals (the cardinal is the SVSU mascot) exhibition at the Museum. We were ecstatic when 28 faculty members and staff submitted more than 50 works of art for the exhibition" says Marilyn Wheaton, Museum director.
Art ranging from paintings to photographs to ceramic work, stained glass, graphic design, poetry, quilts and more will be on display. The university employs all of the artists.
The exhibition is made possible by $1,000 contribution from Bill and Sue Vititoe. Sue is chair of the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum Board of Advisors.
