SOS Animal Rescue hosts 'Bark in the Park' logo design contest

The folks over at SOS Animal Rescue know how talented members of the community in Midland County are, and the group is hoping to make use of that creativity with a contest.

The organization, which places animals in need of homes, provides assistance to spay and neuter pets and advises pet owners about local resources for education and training, announced that it is hosting a logo design contest for one of its most popular summertime events: Bark in the Park.

The event brings together canines and their owners for a chance to socialize and have fun. This year they are hoping to get new a fresh, new logo.

"We are looking to tap into the local community's creative talent," says Joann Taylor, SOS Animal Rescue president. "While attendance for Bark in the Park continues to grow each year, we think having an event logo will make it easier for us to spread the word and encourage additional participation across Midland County."

Logos should include the phrase "Bark in the Park" in the design, as well as the words "SOS Animal Rescue." Beyond that, the organizers of the event encourage creativity.

The winner will be determined by a panel of judges from Midland Parks and Recreation, Downtown Development Authority and SOS Animal Rescue. The winning logo's artist will be recognized in a special ceremony and the logo will be used in all of SOS Animal Rescue's Bark in the Park promotions, including online and in its monthly newsletter. In addition, the logo will be prominently displayed at all Bark in the Park events.

Deadline for the logo entries is March 18. Complete details are available at the SOS website.
