Student consulting group develops system for Johnson Portables

The Wirt-Rivette Group, of Saginaw, was more than a little impressed when a group of University of Michigan students unveiled their semester-long project recently.

The project, which was focused on developing an inclusive customer relationship management system for Wirt-Rivette clients Johnson Portables, was presented at the Mid-Michigan Innovation Center in Midland.

The students, which were part of a student consulting group that named themselves "Bond Consulting," unveiled their CRM System to Johnson Portables and Wirt-Rivette and found themselves immediately being congratulated. The system, according to Wirt-Rivette, is likely to have an immediate impact on the company's customer relationship management and sales-lead tracking.

"Our integrated finance and consulting programs are designed to support entrepreneurial efforts," says Clarence Rivette, president of Wirt-Rivette Group. "The integration of young, professional, and diverse students with a growth company like Johnson Portables is an example of entrepreneurial collaboration that can help transform Michigan."

Johnson Portables, which is based in Bay City and develops rapidly-deployable building systems, was so impressed that they hope to continue working with the same group of students next semester.

"It would not surprise me if one day we look back at this as one of the key stepping stones that facilitated Johnson Portables growth," says Diane Johnson, vice president of Johnson Portables.
