Three mid-Michigan businesses made it onto Corp! magazine's awards list for the Michigan business publications 2011 Best of Michigan Business awards.
The two businesses in Saginaw chosen for the list are
Yeo & Yeo, P.C., which was honored in the Accounting Firms category, and
Duperon Corporation, in the Family Business category. Midland's
Chemical Bank was listed in the Banks and Credit Unions category.
Yeo & Yeo is a public accounting and consulting firm with eight offices throughout Michigan, providing individuals, businesses, nonprofits and governments accounting and consulting services.
It was chosen for the list because of not only its business capabilities but also its commitment to ongoing knowledge in the accounting and consulting fields, in the form of membership in the Leading Edge Alliance, a network of independent accounting firms.
Yeo& Yeo, founded in 1923, also contributes to the Saginaw community through cultural, business and civic programs.
"Yeo & Yeo is grateful for the trust our clients have placed in us and are proud in helping businesses across Michigan achieve financial and business success," says firm president and CEO John Kunitzer.
Duperon develops and manufactures equipment for water flow management and liquid-solid separation, like screening, washing, compacting and conveying. The company started 25 years ago with its first product, the FlexRake. It has also been the recipient of many awards over the years, like Michigan Manufacturer of the Year.
Chemical Bank of Midland was founded more than 90 years ago and is the second-largest bank headquartered in Michigan, with 142 locations. They were honored for their core concept of focusing on community banking and financial responsibility.
The awards are in their fourth year and are chosen by readers of Corp! magazine in eleven different categories. The companies all were featured in the March/April issues of the magazine, and received awards at a ceremony in Troy, April 5.
