City Guide: Frankenmuth

Frankenmuth in Michigan’s “Little Bavaria,” and also home to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the “world’s largest Christmas store.” The name refers to the Bavarian settlers of the city (meaning “courage of the Franconians,” who hailed from Bavaria), and to this day Frankenmuth still retains that old-world Bavarian charm and Franconcian-style architecture that makes it a popular year-round tourist destination for people all over the country. Zehnder’s and Bavarian Inn are among the most popular attractions, in addition to Bronner’s. Frankenmuth’s annual Oktoberfest event is also sanctioned by Germany as an official Oktoberfest celebration.
