Meghan Keen attended
Saginaw Valley State University and earned a degree in graphic design with a double minor in marketing and management. She grew up in Gladwin and after working as a graphic designer for a number of different companies (including
Soaring Eagle Casino), she ended up back in Gladwin working with
Riverwalk Place and handling all of their marketing and advertising.
Meghan says that the Riverwalk is a great place for business lunches, and the lounge is really nice for after business hours. For a slightly different speed,
Mr. M’s Pizza and Lounge is a “divey” sports bar with good, cheap food. For shopping, check out the “summer circle,” a group of independent stores that feature all unique, hand-made items and a day lily farm.
During the summer, the
Gladwin County Carriage Festival is a unique event celebrating the area’s history. New in 2012 is the “Jeep Creep” in the fall, which is a car show for Jeeps that will feature concept vehicles, vendors and a Bob Seger tribute band. There is also a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, dirtbike races and RV trails. The Riverwalk also hosts a
Cardboard Regatta every July, and the
Gladwin Business & Professional Association sponsors the annual nighttime
Christmas Parade and
Thunder on the Strip.
