Creative 360 warms up December

Do you ever secretly laugh at something that occurred in your role as a parent and wish others could laugh along with you? Or snicker when other parents face the same dilemma with their kids, but, only snicker lest that friendship hit a rocky shoal.

Well now you have your chance to belly laugh all you want, while getting a lesson in what really is OK, encouraged in fact, to laugh at in today’s sometimes humorless world.

MOMsemble is a group founded by Midland resident Laura Brigham.
At 7 p.m., Fri,  Dec. 2, The Michigan MOMsemble holiday show, “Making Memories like a Boss,” is playing at Creative 360’s Bayliss Street Gallery. The MOMsemble, formed in 2016 by Midland resident and former touring actor Laura Brigham, is an ever-changing group of more than 45 talented mothers from the Great Lakes Bay Region who perform songs and stories that parody the everyday struggles of parenting.

“We love motherhood,” says MOMsemble co-writer Sarah Smith. “Our mission is to help parents laugh about the frustrations we all encounter so we won’t feel so alone. The MOMsemble creates a community feel, entertaining anyone who has ever experienced the holidays with children. It is a blast!” The Michigan MOMsemble performance occurs Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Admission is $12 prepay, $17 at the door/BYOB.

The event kicks off a number of festive events for Creative 360, designed to entertain mid-Michigan residents throughout the month of December. A day later, Celtic band favorite, Roane, returns to Creative 360’s Bayliss Street Gallery with a fun and family friendly concert.

“We are always excited to welcome Roane back to our stage,” remarks Creative 360 director Laura Vosejpka. “This concert is filled with holiday spirit and it is never a surprise that the band has such a loyal following in Midland. The holidays at Creative 360 wouldn’t be the same without them!”

Roane will perform on the Creative 360 stage on Sat, December 3rd.
Roane, led by Mary Lynne Gottler and featuring Grace Sterns, Nora McCabe, Luke
Sterns, Nellie Schranz Osentowski and Bob Pennington, formed in 2012 and has been charming audiences with their unique brand of Celtic, folk and maritime music ever since. Known for intricate acoustic harmonies, they embody the heart and soul of their Celtic ancestry.

Roane will take the Gallery stage on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Admission is $25 prepay, $30 at the door / BYOB. Pre-registration for both events is recommended at becreative360.org or by calling the arts center at 989-837-1885.
The Naughty List will be presented Dec. 17 & 18.
A series of events, including the Theatre for Young Audiences performances of  “The Naughty List,” Dec. 17 and 18 take place at the Gallery during the holiday season. Produced by Bingham, the show features the elf Sparkle, who is challenged by a new elf. Enjoyable for all ages, but especially geared toward ages 10 and under. Cookie decorating and gift making follow the presentations.

Visit www.becreative360.org for information about the offerings at Creative 360, or call (989) 837-1885 to request a mailed copy of the current schedule.
