When Elizabeth Olney had the vision of helping others, she knew her salon and cosmetology background would play a part. Given the opportunity to take over an existing franchise, she bought a medical spa last year, eventually changing the name to Radiant U and turning it from a franchise model into a private business.
Ranging from medical spa services to manicures, Radiant U provides all types of clients with a complete medical spa treatment. Opened in November 2016, Radiant U’s services include hair removal, oxygen facials, dermaplaning, chemical peels, teeth whitening and many more. The spa also has several skincare and makeup lines and can provide a full service experience of renewal.
Hair removal is provided with IPL (intense pulsed light) technology, which delivers rapid pulses of high intensity light to the area that is being treated. The light energy is converted to heat, which destroys the hair follicle from the base, inhibiting future growth over time.
The medical spa’s most popular services include IPL hair removal, skin treatments and teeth whitening. Olney says by far her favorite part of running the business is helping people and seeing such significant transformations.
“The best part of my job is seeing our clients blossom and really come out of their shell after treatment,” says Olney. “It’s something I get to experience each day, whether it is providing skin treatments, teeth whitening, or any of our services, the client is able to see significant improvements and feel like they are putting their best self out there. That is what is truly rewarding.”
Radiant offers affordable, effective treatments that are attainable for everyone. There is even a monthly membership option that clients can sign up for and use on hair removal and facials. Packages are available for discounted pricing, or patients can pay per treatment and there is a new customer bonus that can be accessed via email on their website.
Most conventional treatment programs for services like hair removal are not permanent or are both painful and costly. The newer IPL technology that Radiant U offers has dramatically improved, so treatment is done with relatively little discomfort and patients will often see a significant improvement after 3-5 treatments.
