Appleseed Collective makes mark on local music scene

An Ann Arbor folk music group has been hitting stages in northern Michigan recently, and their style should be appreciated by music lovers in the area.
 
Excerpt: The Appleseed Collective delivers of old-timey swing, folk and ragtime music with a contemporary flair that turns most of the Ann Arbor-based band's performances into rollicking, generation-spanning spectacles.
 
"It might be that it draws on sort of an amalgam of different roots music and has something that’s very familiar," said acoustic guitarist Andrew Brown, whose father was a Motown session musician.
