Celebration of new office reflects approach of tax time

With tax time just around the corner, Glynna and Ben Parker want people to know they have a new location in St. Joseph, recently celebrated by a ribbon cutting ceremony.

St. Joseph Charter Township and the Cornerstone Chamber representatives were in attendance to assist in the celebration at 1332 Hilltop Road, St. Joseph.

Glynna and Ben Parker, local franchise owners, purchased the St. Joseph and Benton Harbor offices from H&R Block corporate in December of 2009.

The Parkers recently chose to relocate to a retail environment for more visibility within the community and they say this location provides a larger space to provide improved client service along with an enjoyable work space for their staff.

"Our tax professionals help clients with tax planning and preparation, as well as identifying strategies for unique situations," says Glynna Parker.

Beyond tax preparation, they offer services in personal consultation, goal-oriented planning, audit representation and year round support. Their staff includes an attorney and enrolled agents that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Treasury, so they can represent tax payers in front of the IRS directly.

Their current hours are to noon to 6 p.m. to accommodate clients needs for year-end tax planning.

In January the office resumes its regular office hours: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m, Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and late evenings and Sundays by appointments.

The Parkers also own the franchises in South Haven and Bangor.
