Janesville Acoustics hiring in Battle Creek

Supervisors, experienced machine operators, electricians, shipping and receiving workers, fork lift operators, production associates, quality and plant engineers, scheduling help, and purchasing personnel are needed for the new Janesville Acoustics operation in Battle Creek.

Further information on open positions will be available at a Battle Creek Regional Job Fair between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at the Burnham Brook Community Center, located at 200 West Michigan Ave.

Job information on the open positions through Michigan Works! also is available here.

The company says it is looking for those who value team work, collaborative decision-making and an environment that is positive and encourages employees to be successful.

This is the beginning of what is expected to be at least 225 jobs for the area created by the company. Recently, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) awarded a $1.5 million Michigan Business Development Program grant for the project.

The new $10 million, 250,000-square-foot Janesville Acoustics plant in Battle Creek will produce felt parts for vehicles.

The company says the funding provided through the MEDC Business Development Program will allow it to begin operations quickly and to structure a more competitive manufacturing operation. The training grant portion of the incentive will allow Janesville Acoustics to hire key employees sooner and immediately begin ramping up their skills.

Janesville Acoustics, headquartered in Southfield, Mich., is one of the world’s largest producers of acoustical and thermal fiber insulation. It is also a leading producer of fiber products.
