Labor Day is the time the nation has set aside to commemorate the social and economic achievements of American workers, and as a publication dedicated to reporting the changes those workers are bringing about we offer a salute.
With the holiday approaching it’s time for another short break for us. Southwest Michigan’s Second Wave will not publish the weeks of Aug. 27 and Sept. 3, though there will be Facebook and Twitter updates throughout the hiatus.
In the digital publication business we call these dark weeks but we are really hoping it’s an opportunity to get out in the sun a bit to celebrate summer before it reaches its rapidly approaching end.
We will return Sept. 13 with new stories and pictures.
