B.C. Enquirer: Family moves in to Habitat home

After years of impermanence, Cat Hoenecke’s family has found stable footing. Tearfully, the 32-year-old Hoenecke and her three children recently accepted the keys to her new home on Wilkes Street from Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity, reports the Battle Creek Enquirer.

Struggling financially and moving frequently, Hoenecke turned things around when she met a woman living in a Habitat for Humanity home. “And I said, ‘Whatever it takes to do it, that will be me,’” Hoenecke said
