What’s happening: One of the most popular wedding planning websites and apps in the country, The Knot, has once again named Port Huron’s
DoubleTree by Hilton as one of its winners in
The Knot: Best of Weddings competition. This is the sixth such award for the waterfront hotel and event space. With the award, The Knot has also announced that the Port Huron hotel is now entered into The Knot’s Hall of Fame of wedding vendors.
Why it’s important: Winners of The Knot’s Best of Weddings competition are selected by the users of the site themselves, with the awards going to the highest rated wedding vendors across the site. Of the hundreds of thousands of wedding vendors listed on the site, only the top 5 percent of them are given awards. Port Huron’s DoubleTree by Hilton is yet again among that top 5 percent.
The Abbey: The popular wedding destination, the hotel’s Abbey events space, boasts 3,750 sq. ft. of wedding space and views of the St. Clair River. With its proximity to the Blue Water Bridge, the site is no doubt just as popular with local wedding photographers.
