With the cooler weather, an autumn time real estate check in Port Huron

Well, if it didn’t feel like autumn before, it certainly feels like it now. As we enter October, the changing seasons signal the coming change of daily life here in Port Huron, perhaps no signal clearer than the dwindling amount of boats on the water, week after week.

With the cooler, crisp air, perhaps it’s a good time to take a walk around town and take a look at the latest batch of homes to hit the market. What follows are a few affordable houses here in town, whether you’re looking for a starter home, investment, or something altogether different.

Check out this home in Port Huron
1102 Howard Street: $85,900

Just blocks west of downtown, this is the type of home one might be shocked at the price. A handsome three-story Victorian, the house features a second-story balcony, fireplace, four bedrooms and two baths. Walk to downtown staples like Moe’s Corner Deli, the Raven Café, and Lynch’s Irish Tavern.

806 Sanborn Street: $89,000

Though on the smaller end at just over 600 sq. ft., this northend ranch has a certain charm to it, and just a few minutes-long walk to Sanborn Park--and an even quicker walk to Lake Huron. Built in 1922, the home features a covered carport and, at nearly 4,000 sq. ft., a healthy sized lot.
