Table 6 revamps interior, adds to menu

When Vince Baron first opened up his restaurant, Table 6, in Menominee, he knew it would be an ever-changing business that was always looking to fit best with what it's customers wanted.

Last week, the restaurant completed multiple changes to both the interior of the establishment and the menu, bringing about a transformation from Table 6's Italian origins to a variety of choices that make Table 6 far more versatile and less restricted.

"We have made things less formal," says Baron. "We are no longer and Italian restaurant. We are an American restaurant, or what some people would call a continental restaurant."

Visitors will find a newly-pained dining room, chalkboards announcing daily specials and a completely revamped menu. Last Friday, Table 6 Restaurant and Bar hosted its first-ever perch fish fry.

"We made the change because we did not want to be a special occasion restaurant, but more of the every-day restaurant," says Baron. "We still serve the same great food and give great service and a warm atmosphere, but we want people to know they can come any day of the week."

Keeping Table Six a strictly-Italian restaurant--a highly-rated and reviewed one at that--shackled Baron and his team and reduced the potential customers who would walk through the door.

"We wanted people who don't like Italian food to have a chance to come and get great food," says Baron. "As a chef, it is actually very liberating for me because I now can cook any cuisine that I like."

Table 6 also hired a new line cook to compliment the staff. Blake Sawver came from Escanaba's Hereford and Hops.

The restaurant also changed its hours to be open Tuesday through Sunday starting at 4:30 p.m. They are closed on Monday.
