On one hand, it's a Christmas present in itself to have a few weeks away from the world of writing, editing and publishing. On the other, it's hard to stay away from all of the above, especially when it involves the Upper Peninsula.
But, as we did last year, the staff of Upper Peninsula Second Wave will be taking a three-week hiatus to spend time with family, friends and our ice fishing gear before coming back with our first edition of 2012 come Jan. 11. Don't worry about feeling as though you won't get your weekly dose of the good ol' U.P., because we invite you to browse through our archives and reread some of the stories from this past year and 2010. There are some really top-notch tales in there, and, perhaps, some you may have missed.
If you're interested, we also invite you to check out our sister publications, all owned by
Issue Media Group. Each one of these publications (nearly two dozen and growing) are dedicated to bringing the growth, forward-thinking and the innovative news from their areas to their readers. While none of them relate, specifically, to the Upper Peninsula, there are some great articles nonetheless, and all of them are informative and many are truly inspiring.
We here at Upper Peninsula Second Wave wish every one of you a Merry Christmas, happy holidays and a wonderful New Year. We look forward to being back in your inbox on Jan. 11. Until then, we'll be out enjoying this wonderful peninsula we call home.
