Marquette General lands itself on top 50 list for cardiovascular hospitals

Marquette General has long been known across the Upper Peninsula as an outstanding cardiovascular hospital. Over recent years, that recognition has grown from being one of regional knowledge to one of national significance.

Marquette General was once again named to the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in the country by Thomson Reuters, a list that is compiled after an annual study of more than 1,000 hospitals. This is the sixth consecutive year Marquette General has been awarded the distinction.

"To be recognized as a top cardiovascular for the sixth consecutive time is a testament to the strength of our program," says A. Gary Muller, Marquette General president and CEO. "It’s yet another validation that patients have top quality care, right here in Marquette."

The Thomson Reuters study examined the performance of more than 1,000 hospitals by analyzing outcomes for patients with heart failure and heart attacks and for those who received coronary bypass surgery and percutaneous coronary interventions such as angioplasties.
