Portage Health adds a family nurse practitioner to growing staff

It seems like Portage Health is growing its staff every time we turn around these days--but that's a good thing. The more, the merrier, especially when the hospital is growing their client base at the same time.

Cynthia Blake is the newest member of the Portage Health staff, coming on board as a family nurse practitioner with more than 25 years of nursing experience. She'll be working with patients of all ages in family medicine.

"I've always had a passion for helping others and this is a great opportunity to continue giving," says Blake.

Aside from nursing, Blake also taught at Finlandia University before to moving to Pennsylvania for several years.

"My husband and I love the Upper Peninsula and the Copper Country," says Blake, who is originally from Kansas. "I was thrilled to have this opportunity arise at Portage Health and return to the area."

Blake has a Bachelor's of Science in nursing and Master's of Science as a family nurse practitioner, both from the University of Kansas.
