Fads are an interesting thing. One day they are going as white hot as a blast furnace and the next they've left nothing behind but a scorch mark. Right now, it seems that movie making in the Upper Peninsula may be the newest fad--everyone is doing it. Hopefully, each and every film made up here is top-notch, giving filmmakers more of a reason to consider shooting here.
Excerpt: Marching to a beat of his own design, Dana Ferguson, Ishpeming, is working to showcase the Upper Peninsula and its residents in a new venue.
Ferguson, founder and owner of Eclipse Productions, was in Escanaba Friday scouting locations for a film he is producing.
"It's a dark comedy about a 30-year-old man who is afraid to move outside of his comfort zone," explained Ferguson.
