You've heard of chanting monks. You've probably even heard of kung-fu master monks. But have you ever heard of jam-making monks? A lot of people haven't, so don't feel bad. Instead, get in your car, head to the Keweenaw Peninsula and buy some of their delicious wares.

Excerpt: The Society of St. John's Holy Transfiguration Skete on the Keweenaw Peninsula, between Eagle River and Eagle Harbor, makes preserves that it sells to the public through its Web site and seasonal store. The monks at this Byzantine Ukrainian Catholic monastery have been making jelly since 1984, according to spokesman Father Basil.
