U.P. vet gives pointers on livestock handling

Excerpt: Teaching sheep to handle easily is "Mission Possible," contends Ben Bartlett, Michigan State University Extension livestock educator in the Upper Peninsula who runs 450 ewes and 200 head of stocker cattle in a grazing operation.

Bartlett, who's also a veterinarian, says "more sheep don't have to be more work" if you understand sheep-handling. That's good news for producers focused on expanding to cash in on today's strong lamb prices.
