Celebrate Halloween on Midland Street with craft beers, hard ciders, and sliders

A new Halloween tradition is set to take over Midland Street in downtown Bay City.

The Ciders, Sliders, Suds, and Spiders Crawl will take place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 24, at 13 participating businesses on Midland Street.

The inaugural event is sponsored by four area radio stations: My 96.1 WHNN-FM; Wheelz 104.5 WILZ-FM; 102.5 WIOG-FM; and Z93 WKQZ-FM.

"Midland Street is lined with so many great establishments. The Wine Walk is such a success that we thought we’d extend it to fall with Ciders, Sliders, Suds, and Spiders," says April Rose, director of marketing and promotions for Cumulus Media, the company that owns the radio station sponsors.

"With ciders and craft beers being so popular, we thought this would be a great opportunity."

The Ciders, Sliders, Suds, and Spiders Crawl will see each of the 13 participating businesses offer a craft beer sample, a craft hard cider sample, and a grab-and-go slider. Tickets are $30 for the event.

The event is Halloween-themed, and though there is no official costume contest, guests are encouraged to dress up for the holiday. All four radio stations will be on hand playing Halloween music, as well.

The 13 participating businesses include Bay City Burgers and Beer, Brooklyn Boyz, The Crowne Pub, Diamond Ballroom, Duso’s Bar, JT’s Pub, Lucky’s Bar, Lumber Barons, The Rathskeller, River Rock Café, The Stables, VNO Wine Warehouse, and The Westown.

"The businesses were easy to approach. We said, 'We know you’re with Wine Walk, how about doing something in October, too'," Rose says.

"They were immediately on board."

Visit any of the 13 participating business to purchase tickets for the Ciders, Sliders, Suds, and Spiders Crawl.
