Non-profit bringing affordable dental care to Bay City

Affordable dental care is coming to Bay City.

My Community Dental Centers and the Bay County Health Department have worked together to bring a My Community Dental Center (MCDC) to the city.

The 3,000-square-foot dental center is expected to open in the plaza next to Family Dollar on Tues., Sept. 8.

Oral exams, cleanings, fillings, and other dental services will be available at My Community Dental Center, 2614 Center Ave."MCDC is proud to have this opportunity to provide quality oral health care to the communities in Bay County. The Bay County Health Department has played a critical role as a collaborative partner to make this a reality," says the CEO of MCDC, Deborah E. Brown, DMD.

"MCDC is committed to increasing access, improving the dental health of the community and ensuring that our patients have the highest quality experience."

A non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, My Community Dental Centers operates more than 30 dental centers throughout Michigan. The organization’s mission is to provide quality dental care to Medicaid enrollees and low-income, uninsured residents.

The new center will offer oral exams and cleanings, fillings, tooth removal, partials, dentures, and more to Medicaid enrollees and those with Healthy Kids Dental and Healthy Michigan Plans. Services are also available to those with private insurance.

For the uninsured, MCDC offers the My Dental Program. That program provides the same services but for reduced fees based on household income. New patients can receive a first exam and x-rays for $39.

"We believe that everyone should have access to dental care that is provided with dignity, respect and in a state-of-the-art facility that is clean and comfortable," Brown says.

"Our experienced staff of dedicated dental professionals look forward to serving patients at our new center."

The new My Community Dental Center is located at 2614 Center Ave. in Bay City.
