Project Community Connect set for Oct. 19

Looking for a place to live? Maybe you need some legal advice or a little help with groceries before your next payday.

Project Community Connect has all that – and more – covered.

Project Community Connect takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. Wed., Oct. 19 at the Bay County Community Center, 800 John F. Kennedy Drive.

This event will be a one-stop shop for residents to connect with community resources. A variety of social service agencies, including Legal Services of Eastern Michigan, Neighborhood Resource Center, Bay City Housing Commission, Disability Network of Mid-Michigan, and Game Changer Therapy Services will be on hand to provide resources and services.

While you’re there, you can take advantage of free health screenings. For example, the Bay City Lions Club will provide vision screening services and the Bay County Health Department will provide vision and hearing screenings, as well as COVID-19 vaccinations.

A meal will be served, prizes will be raffled every hour, and there also will be a food truck on site.
