Eastern Michigan University students take a "can-do" approach with charity food drive

EMU students have a food drive and support their local campus arts program at the same time.

Excerpt:

A group of Eastern Michigan University students spent Wednesday spelling out "AMP," the shorthand for a campus arts program, using stacks of hundreds of canned goods that will be donated to the Salvation Army after being on display in the Student Center lobby.

It was work that might fairly be described as tedious - wrapping cans of corn and beans and greens in colored construction paper, stacking them in columns and rows and engineering the letters to near human height.

But none of the students was complaining, because two good causes were involved.
