It might take a while to get certain developments done in Ypsi, but they have been worth the wait. The Water Street Project seems to be another one that may take a little longer and transform into something a bit different from its original plan, however, again, it may be worth the wait.

Instead of trying to work with one company to develop the (Water Street Project), the city is now open to the idea of selling off pieces of the
large site for individual developments. The city's consultant says
there have been inquiries from companies about individual projects as
diverse as a grocery store, senior housing, student housing and some
type of mixed-use development. Those are encouraging signs, especially
in these troubling economic times - and with a loan payment due next
summer.
The potential of development at this site remains a key component to
the evolving Ypsilanti. It is another promising sign that city
officials are willing to recalibrate their vision for redevelopment on
the site and carefully consider proposals for partial, individual
developments on the site.
