Before green building became the new black, Ann Arbor-based
Archiopolis Architects
specialized in environmentally friendly designs.
"We’ve been doing this kind of work for a long time," says Bob Tinker, president of Archiopolis Architects. "We just didn't have a proper label for it."
The firm has done green architecture for some of Metro Detroit’s greenest companies, such as sustainable build outs at
Avalon Bakery
in Detroit's Cass Corridor and
Mind, Body & Spirits
restaurant in Rochester. Mind Body & Spirits is going for
LEED
certification and may be the
greenest brewpub
in Michigan.
The 3-year-old firm has three employees. It also has an internship program... which is where the company’s third employee came from.
