Ann Arbor's GDI Infotech looks to hire 12-14 now, 30 within one year

GDI Infotech likes to say its claim to fame is breaking down information silos, which basically means integrating and consolidating information in web applications.

Apparently it's not too bad at it since the Ann Arbor-based IT company routinely posts 15-20 percent revenue growth in each of the last five years. No doubt that growth is the reason this 15-year-old firm has grown to 130 people, 40 of which are here in southeast Michigan.

"We have jobs in Ann Arbor," says Bhushan Kulkarni, president and CEO of GDI Infotech. "We're looking at adding more."

How many? Well, 12-14 people right away and up to 30 people within the next year. GDI also hopes to add 100 or so people within the next 2-5 years through organic growth and acquisitions. Those jobs would include mostly high-paying positions like analysts or project managers.

The Michigan Economic Growth Corporation recently awarded the firm a $1.5 million grant to open its new Solutions Division in Ann Arbor instead of North Carolina. That tax credit is supposed to create 121 jobs at GDI Infotech within the next seven years.

The firm might have a build up a few office tower silos to house all of those new people.
