MedArray continues its steady growth of adding a few people here and there as it prepares for a potential burst of business later this year.
The last time we checked in with the 10-year-old firm in May it has just expanded its workforce to five. Today MedArray's staff measures out to eight people, including one recent hire. The company expects to double its employee base this year after its first year of shipping its product and building its customer base.
"We think we're in with the right customers. Several large customers are looking at us," says Scott Olson, vice president and general manager of
MedArray
. "If things continue to trend upward we'll grow rapidly in the second half."
The membrane-technology company is expanding its facilities on the south side of Ann Arbor in anticipation of that. MedArray, recently named one of
Michigan's 50 Companies to Watch
, developed a silicone hollow fiber membrane that has a number of potential applications. They can range from helping prevent blood oxygenization technology from clotting to separating gases.
