Online Tech hires 5 as it expands cloud computing sales

Compliance is becoming an increasingly important word at Online Tech. The IT firm continues to grow its bottom line as more companies are looking for secure cloud computing options to comply with government regulations, such as HIPAA.

"It used to be 10 percent of our sales and now its 50 percent," says Yan Ness, CEO of Online Tech. "Half of our sales have some sort of compliance aspect to it. They all want to go to the cloud but they have fears about security."

Online Tech has been able to allay those fears with its cloud-computing products. That has allowed the nearly 9-year-old company to drive up its revenue by 30 percent and its profit by 50 percent. The Ann Arbor-based firm also hired five people and has five open positions right now for sales, marketing and systems management professionals. The company now employs 30 people.

"We don't see why we can't keep this growth of 30 percent top line and 50 percent bottom line and adding five to seven people per year for the next five years," Ness says.

Online Tech is a company that specializes in IT and data storage work. It has steadily grown into one of Ann Arbor's leading IT firms in recent years.
