Whitmore Lake-based RheTech hires 10, looks to add 15 more

RheTech is enjoying a double-digit jump in growth over the last year as it moves its business model to a more environmentally-friendly approach.

The Whitmore Lake-based plastics firm has watched its revenues grow about 20 percent in the last year, thanks largely to its new green product, RheVision. RheVision is a fiber reinforced polypropylene that replaces traditional minerals with renewable bio waste that have traditionally been burned or buried. RheTech promotes RheVision as a product that helps "reduce your carbon footprint and reduce our dependence on high energy consumers, like fiberglass and talc."

"That has driven a lot of our growth in the last year," says Jim Preston, vice president of business development for RheTech.

That growth has also allowed the company to add staff to its workforce. It has hired about 10 people over the last year, expanding its workforce to 185 employees. The company is also looking to add more sales people over the next year and currently has job openings for as many as 15 positions.

"We're always looking for good people," Preston says.
