The list of four finalists for the president’s job at Eastern Michigan University looks a tad unconventional — with a trial judge, a former Detroit school leader and the state’s top K-12 educator in the mix - but the board that initiated the search designed it that way.
"It is a very eclectic pool, when you look at the backgrounds of these people," said Jim Stapleton, co-chair of the search committee and a member of the EMU Board of Regents.
"Any of these four candidates … would be a good president."
