Football fans will need to adjust routines for Michigan Stadium construction

Like it or not, the face of Michigan Stadium is changing and the football fans will have to tip toe around that construction this fall.

So you've got your own Michigan Stadium routine that you've adopted over the years for University of Michigan home football games.

You enter through the same gate, mill around and meet your friends at the same spot, grab a hot dog at the same stand, and make your way to your seat at about the same time before kick-off.

And if you're like 65 percent of all ticket holders, you're trying to do all of that within the last hour before the game starts.

Try that on your way to the first game of the season on Aug. 30 against Utah, and you might miss the first quarter.

Ongoing construction for a $226 million renovation means drastic changes for fans long accustomed to a routine for home football games at the iconic stadium. The work won't be finished until 2010.
