The Ann Arbor business district along South University Avenue - popularly known as "South U" - had its zoning changed in 2006 to allow for taller buildings and has attracted development. Zaragon Place, a 10-story, 248-bed building, is under construction at 619 E. University Ave., where the Anberay Apartments used to be. And now, University Village is being proposed. It's two buildings that would be 15 and 20 stories and bring in a projected 1,400 students. Maggie Ladd, director of Ann Arbor's South University Area Association, discusses the area's growth.
