Nicole Rupersburg

A twentysomething event organizer, writer and photographer, Nicole Rupersburg is one of Detroit's most prolific bloggers, and, it turns out that she just might be one of Detroit's biggest foodies.

Nicole has many food favorites in Dearborn. With large number of Middle Eastern restaurants to choose from, she singles out Al-Ameer as a place that serves some most authentic that she's had.

For lunch with a friend she opts for Little Cafe on the Avenue, a cute little coffee house/ice cream parlor/lunch place. Or local hangout, Howells': " It is an absolute hole-in-the-wall with some of the best burgers around." The recently opened Kabuki Sushi has become a fast favorite. "It has some of the best sushi in the tri-county area, but shirks the clubbiness of places like Crave."

For a meat-and-potatoes dinner and cocktails, she'll head to Kiernan's Steak House, a classic steak joint which has been around for about 40 years. Nicole appreciates the "good eats at fair prices" and the traditional American steakhouse fare.

For drinks in a chic but slightly low-key atmosphere, she chooses Double Olive Cocktail Lounge. It's a local favorite and the crowd really comes out on weekend nights. And Silky's Martini & Music Café, which has an extensive martini menu and live music ranging from rock to pop to Motown, with karaoke on Wednesdays. But by far the best party in Dearborn is during the summer months at Crave," when they host their seven-part summer boozefests known as Crave the Sunset."

For some relaxation Nicole favors Om Spa, a day spa that takes its holistic approach to healing and wellness. "They offer a variety of East-meets-West wellness offerings that don't read like a part-time plastic surgery outlet."

For shopping her long-time favorite is Dearborn Music for their extensive collection of used CDs. "I've found some of the rarest pieces in my collection there."
