Ron Rose Productions is a multi-faceted post production audio - video facility.  Ron Rose Productions has spent over thirty years building a national reputation for bringing our clients great ideas to life.  The facility offers services such as audio post, sound design, original music composition, video editing, color grading, visual effects, and duplication services.  The facility is constantly adding new services and portfolios to stay current and vital to the needs of the producers.

I took the Account Manager position in September 2010, I wanted to work in the production side of the advertising business.  Prior to working at Ron Rose-Milagro Post, I was an account executive for five years at the Metrotimes Weekly Alternative paper.  Working at the Metrotimes allowed me to network into my current position.

The ability to work in a creative environment that is constantly changing with technology is very challenging and rewarding.  I work primary with producers from agencies that use the facility to create or manipulate radio advertising, web content or TV/Web spots and corporate videos.

Southeast Michigan is a great area to live and work -- there are great work opportunities and great professionals committed to the area and their careers.

I knew a career in the graphic design field was in my future from a very young age. With a drawing pad always nearby, I would sketch anything that grabbed my eye. Later, during high school, I channeled this love for art into a small business designing t-shirts for student groups and athletic teams. This led me to attend the University of Michigan School of Art & Design to get a better understanding of graphic design theory and how I could use it to help people communicate their ideas. During school, I started my own freelance graphic design shop and began to take on several side jobs (whenever pesky homework didn’t get in the way) including a logo design for an airline and a website for a local life science company. Being a freelance graphic designer has allowed me to learn about so many interesting industries and meet some very inspiring entrepreneurs. It has also helped me to improve my graphic and web design skill sets at a much faster pace than when I was just working with one client.

Citizens Insurance is owned by Hanover Insurance, which was just voted one of the best companies to work for by the Boston Globe. I am one of 7 underwriters on my team. We primarily take calls from our partners agents, the ones who write the most and best business. We have to approve, deny, or "tweek" risks based on various eligibility factors. Although that is the main part of my job, on an average day I wear many hats. My department is set up like a call center, and I handle escalated issues from both agents and insureds. These issues can be anywhere from underwriting, billing, processing, or customer service. I am given a lot of autonomy in decision making, and I take ownership in what my team does. Citizens is a great company, with a great training program, and lots of opportunity for growth and development. We just hired 4 new team members, and are always looking for talent.

I love being an attorney because I have the chance to help people and communities. My main areas of practice are land use, municipal, and real estate with an emphasis on leasing and community associations. The southeast Michigan region and particularly Detroit are full of opportunity for economic development and innovative land use planning. Detroit is wide open for reinvention. It is a blank slate just waiting to be reshaped by creative, passionate people.

I have always been interested in community development and local government. As a law student, I was pulled toward municipal law because it is primarily where land use planning decisions are made. I was fortunate to find very talented and experienced mentors that helped me focus my job search and helped open doors for me in the local legal community. My firm is the perfect fit for my practice area interests.

I started as a Social Media Intern and soon thereafter became a Social Media Analyst/Content Manager. This means I manage the social media and web content across various North American Bancard (NAB) websites, from the usual suspects of Facebook and Twitter to the company's blog. On a daily basis I create content to post and monitor what people are saying about our brand. The best part of my position is that it is a fun and challenging mix of content management, marketing and PR, and customer service (I get to do a little of everything and I get to work with various departments and outside vendors).  Just as the social media space is advancing and ever-changing, NAB has been growing and moving fast, especially in regards to the mobile payments movement. So despite my title, I'm not limited to just social media - I've been involved in the launch of Pay Anywhere, a mobile payments solution (PayAnywhere.com). It's been really exciting to be a part of new product, from initial market research production to the assisting in the coordination of PR efforts. My job and NAB definitely keeps me on my toes!

I currently work as an HR Administrator specializing in Staffing for Netarx, LLC. In March of 2010, I started with the company as an HR intern and eventually  gained a full time position with the company after just a few months. As a company, Netarx is driven to continuously expand its growth and improve itself by setting new challenging goals every  quarter. Due to this corporate vision, employment opportunities have flourished in my tenure with the firm. Entry level positions in particular have been created that have given new hope for recent college graduates in the state. There is immense growth opportunities for every employee in the company; internship and apprenticeship programs have been created to promote from within.

This company has proven that the portrayal of Michigan as a dismal economic state is merely a perspective.  For young professionals that are seeking full-time opportunities with an excellent firm, Netarx has proven to me that authentic careers do exist and to leave Michigan to find them is a choice rather than a necessity. The best part of my job is that I am helping to recruit talented individuals in Michigan that will give the company strength from within and in addition keeping the talent pool alive in the state.

Justin Jacobs

After moving home to Detroit after college for a job opportunity in 2007, I realized that the majority of the recent college graduates always had the same complaint, that there was nothing to do! They became so complaint with their routines of work, eat, sleep, that they didn't realize how easy it is to improve the quality of their lives through basic interactions such as social leagues and events. In order to make metro Detroit a more dynamic place where young professionals want to move, there needed to be more opportunities for people to be engaged in their communities, socially, actively and professionally. As someone that has a hard time sitting in one place, I decided to do something about it! I organized a men's basketball league in February 2010, and through word of mouth, Facebook and other social media outlets we have grown to over 2,500 participants in our kickball, volleyball, dodgeball, bowling, softball leagues, pilates/TRX/barre classes in our first year, as well as many more who have attended our social events. With our upcoming summer schedule including leagues and events on Belle Isle, we are making the push downtown to make Detroit a place where people want to work, live and play. We are currently organizing "Dodge it in Detroit", an upcoming event on Belle Isle where we will have over 3,000 participants help break the Guinness Book record for largest dodgeball game ever! Eventually our goal is to have a hub for young adults in the city of Detroit for all their social needs.

I started my own business as a photographer five years ago while I was finishing college in Rochester,  as I found a lot of friends in my personal extended network getting engaged. For me, photography was something I knew I always wanted to do for work since it was already a passion throughout my life. It was just a matter of getting started when I did, which launched my success at an early age. Since I have always felt talented creatively, I have been working to expand my business in the past year to offer my fine art photographs on canvas for sale, as well as begin designing more as a graphic artist as well as interior decorating consulting & services. My favorite part of my job is the flexibility to work when & where I like, and traveling the country to photograph people in love. The flexibility was key for me, as I have also been raising my five year old as a single parent simultaneously since I started my self-employment. I love being a photographer because I love seeing & creating. Finding beauty or uniqueness in something and translating that from my personal point of view is so fulfilling as a creative.

I own a small design company based out of Metro Detroit.  I launched my company because I was having trouble finding a job that suited me and all of my experience since graduating from college was in the event industry.  As much as I loved working on events/weddings, I wanted to expand upon that creatively and allow myself and my brand to do more than just events.  I spent a while deciding on what I thought represented me and my style best.  After a lot of research and self-reflection, I landed on the idea of finding style in every day life.  Whether it was something as large as a wedding or as simple as re-organizing one's closet, I wanted to apply my love for style, fashion and design into one place.  I love what I do because it's a way of helping people and being creative at the same time.  I couldn't imagine having my business in any other area than Metro Detroit.  We have great, unique shopping here and fabulous vendors...it's the perfect fit for me and my company and I am happy to call it home.
