The CEO of
GlobalWatt -- a San Jose, California–based company that's expanding operations to Saginaw -- says the business is gearing up to start shipping within the next month.
The company, which produces mobile solar module devices, is expected to bring 500 jobs to the city within a five-year period.

In December, the company announced it would move to Saginaw, adding a new presence to the region's solar industry that now includes Hemlock Semiconductor Group in Thomas Township and Dow Corning Corp. in Bay County.
GlobalWatt is in the process of building a $177 million facility at 1200 Leon Scott in Saginaw. Sanjeev Chitre, chairman and CEO, answered some questions on the business's outlook.
