Bay City small business owners weigh in on Obama's Small Business Jobs Act of 2010

It's not easy being a small business or someone who is looking to start one. Hopefully the Small Business Act of 2010 that President Barack Obama just signed will help make it a little easier.

The Bay City Times hit the streets and asked several small business owners what they thought of the act and how it could help them.

Excerpt: According to officials, the law aims to help small business expand and hire workers by setting up a $30 billion government loan fund and providing $12 billion in tax breaks.

Lindsay and Brian Coonan, along with Kay and Mike Salogar, opened the Bay City chocolate shop Lindsay Truffler at 800 Columbus on Aug. 4, after taking out a small business loan from a local bank.

"We are just starting out, and certainly we will look into the bill to see if it offers anything," said Kay Salogar, who started making truffles with her husband, Mike Salogar, and daughter, Lindsay Coonan, for friends.
