Bay City gets Riverwalk grant

A local foundation is putting its money where its mouth is, as the McGillivray Saginaw River improvement fund gave a chunk to Bay City to improve the Riverwalk along the very same river.

Excerpt: Bay City officials secured about $70,000 in grant money this week to build a new section of Riverwalk connecting downtown Bay City to the new Uptown Bay City development.

Representatives from the Bay Area Community Foundation presented a check for $69,558 at a Bay City Commission meeting on Monday, June 16, from the Ronald K. and Greta A. McGillivray Saginaw River Improvement Fund.
