It's always good to know we have a safe hospital to turn to, even if we hope never to need it. MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland is right up there with the best, according to Consumer Reports magazine.

The magazine said in its August issue that the overall safety score combines six categories — infections, readmissions, communications, scanning, complications and mortality.
